Terms of service

For All Customers

Quality Guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our locally grown flowers and farm-fresh products. If you have concerns at the time of delivery or pickup, please notify us within 24 hours with photos and your order number. See Returns below for more details.

Locations Served

We deliver as needed throughout Polk, Jasper, Marion, and Warren counties, including Altoona, Ankeny, Colfax, the Des Moines metro, Indianola, Johnston, Knoxville, Monroe, Newton, Norwalk, Pella, Pleasant Hill, Prairie City, Runnells, Urbandale, and West Des Moines.
Delivery is not available for every product—please contact us to confirm availability. If your community isn’t listed, feel free to ask; we may still be able to help.

Pricing

Pricing may vary due to availability, seasonality, and market conditions, and is subject to change without notice. All pricing and payment are in U.S. dollars.

Cancellation Policy

Because our products are perishable and often cut-to-order, all sales are final once an order is placed. Hive & Petal may cancel or provide substitution options on an order in rare cases involving loss, damage, or circumstances beyond our control (e.g., extreme weather events).

Returns & Refunds

Because our products are perishable and often cut-to-order, Hive & Petal does not offer refunds or returns once an order is placed.

If your product arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 24 hours with your order number and photos. Validated claims will receive a replacement or store credit, depending on product availability.

Event tickets, workshops, CSA shares, and private bookings are non-refundable, but may be eligible for rescheduling or credit when allowed by the event or service policy.

Product Availability & Substitution

As a seasonal flower farm, availability varies throughout the year and may be affected by weather and growing conditions. If substitutions are needed, we will communicate any changes before delivery whenever possible.

E-Commerce Retail Customers

Order Confirmation

Products purchased through our online shop are confirmed at checkout. All online orders are considered final. Delivery or pickup is scheduled only after payment is received.

Payment

Customers may use any payment option available at checkout (including credit cards and PayPal). Products cannot be reserved without payment.

Sales Tax

We collect Iowa Sales Tax as outlined by state policies. Sales tax is automatically applied to taxable products in the cart.

CSA Policy (Community Supported Agriculture)

Share Payments

CSA shares are s a prepaid and non-refundable. They can be ordered as a Subscription CSA through our Flower Market Payment confirms your membership for the season.

Communication Practices

We communicate with Subscription CSA members primarily by email. Updates—including weekly share details, reminders, schedule adjustments, and delivery or pickup information—are sent directly to the email address provided at sign-up.

Members are responsible for ensuring their contact information is current and for checking email regularly during the season.

CSA Distribution Schedule (The Seasonal Event)

The CSA is a fixed-term, seasonal membership. By purchasing a CSA share, you are securing a full block of seasonal harvests on a pre-set schedule. Because this is a shared-risk agricultural program, all harvest dates are fixed and cannot be customized. CSA members receive exclusive, prioritized updates via our dedicated CSA newsletter. Please review the specific harvest calendar and commitment details on the individual product page.

Best of the Field Subscriptions (The Flexible Service)

Best of the Field bouquets are a recurring, flexible subscription service designed for weekly enjoyment. Unlike the CSA, this program allows for individual management (such as skipping a week) through your personal customer portal. All subscription updates and delivery reminders are managed through your account portal and our subscription-specific email communications.

Schedule Adjustments

We require 48 hours’ notice for any scheduling changes, including skips or address updates. Because every bouquet is custom-harvested specifically for your order, we cannot guarantee adjustments made within this 48-hour window. Requests submitted after this deadline are subject to availability and may not be accommodated.

Missed Pickups/Deliveries

Pickups and Deliveries must be collected during the designated time window. Missed pickups are forfeited, as the bouquets are perishable and harvested specifically for your order. If you anticipate a conflict, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance to discuss alternate arrangements. Requests made after this window cannot be accommodated.

Events & Workshops

Ticketing & Payment

All events and workshops must be paid in full at the time of registration. Because event spaces are limited and materials are prepared in advance, all ticket sales are final once purchased.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Tickets are non-refundable. Guests may request a one-time reschedule if the request is made at least 48 hours before the event, subject to availability.
No-shows or cancellations made within 48 hours are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling.

Weather Considerations

Events may take place indoors or outdoors depending on the weather. In cases of severe or unsafe weather conditions, Hive & Petal may reschedule the event or move it indoors when possible. If an event must be canceled by the farm, guests will receive the option to reschedule or receive a credit.

Private Bookings

Private workshops, farm tours, bouquet bars, and custom events require advance reservation and may have minimum group sizes or booking fees. Once a private booking is confirmed, it is considered final due to custom preparation and staffing.

Photography

Guests are welcome to take personal photos during events unless otherwise noted. Professional photography or styled shoots must be booked separately.

Arrival & Participation

Guests are encouraged to arrive 5–10 minutes early. All participants are responsible for following farm safety guidelines and respecting designated event areas. Hive & Petal reserves the right to decline participation to anyone who may compromise the safety or enjoyment of others.

Event Communication Practices

Event updates, reminders, and important information (including directions, preparation notes, and weather-related updates) are sent via email to the address provided during registration. Guests are responsible for ensuring their email information is accurate and for checking email in the days leading up to the event.

Accessibility & Accommodations

Hive & Petal strives to make our events welcoming and accessible. Portions of the farm include uneven ground, grass or gravel pathways, and outdoor areas that may affect mobility. If you or a member of your group requires accommodations, please contact us prior to your event so we can assist with planning and ensure the best possible experience.
